It was a hot, beautiful and sometimes blustery afternoon and evening in the majestic Sabino Canyon for the 2025 iteration of the Sabino Canyon Sunset Run. Many thanks to all of our incredible volunteers, the Forest Service, and our amazing sponsors, Performance Footwear, Summit Hut, the Damion Alexander Team with Long Realty, and eegees. This event benefits the Friends of Sabino Canyon. We are proud to support this wonderful group who does fantastic work making the canyon accessible and enjoyable for all of us. Visit them online to learn about the plans for an incredible new visitor’s center!
On to the racing. All of these times were particularly impressive due to this being one of the hottest Sabino Canyon Sunset Runs that we can remember. The top 3 men in order were, Kennett Peterson (41:54), Jose Delgado (43:34), and Parker Gradillas (47:07). The top 3 women in order were Jori Galles (47:35), Jennifer Peters (52:42), and Adelaide Perr (54:37). The men’s master’s winner was Rogelio Herandez (49:17) and taking home the master’s crown for the ladies was Janet Holland (1:01:25).
